13.12.2018 : Letter sent to all Pastorates in all the 3 Synods

Letter sent to all Pastorates in all the 3 Synods pointing out that Assessment is not paid to CBO, Nagercoil and requesting to remit assessment from January 2019 by increasing the assessment by 25% over Gross Salary, If Gross Salary is higher than the assessment or to remit 25% over assessment, if assessment is higher than the Gross Salary.

It was pointed out that since Gross Salary is higher than the assessment, no PF amount is deposited in CBO, Nagercoil and more than Rs.2 Crs. towards PF amount is on record but not actually available.

It was also stated that a transfer policy relating to Pastors has to be evolved. It was informed that the Administrator will meet the Pastors and a Church Committee Member of each Pastorates in Nagercoil Synod and likewise in Trivandrum Synod in January 2019.

 

31.07.2018: Judgement of the Hon’ble High Court of Madras

The Hon’ble High Court of Madras appointed Justice D. Hariparanthaman, a retired judge of Madras High Court, the Administrator of the IELC.

The High Court recognized the election of the Office Bearers to the IELC under the Presidentship of Rev. Y. Suvisesha Muthu and directed them to assist the Administrator, IELC.

Prior to the appointment of the Administrator, the group led  by Mr. K. Baul Sundar was in control of Central Business Office, shortly, CBO at Nagercoil and also the Office of the IELC Trust Association at Nagercoil.

 

26.07.2018: Judgement of the Hon’ble High Court of Madras

 

There were two groups in India Evangelical Lutheran Church, shortly IELC. One was under the leadership of Mr. K. Baul Sundar. The other was under the leadership of Rev. Y. Suvisesha Muthu.

The election of the Office Bearers of the IELC under the leadership of Rev. Y. Suvisesha Muthu was held on 26.05.2017, while the election of the other group led by Mr. K. Baul Sundar was held on 26.06.2017.

Both the group approached the Court seeking to disqualify the election held by the other group.

The Hon’ble High Court, Madras in the judgement delivered on 26.07.2018, disqualified the election held on 26.06.2017 by the Mr. K. Baul Sundar group. That is, the election of the Office Bearers of Mr. K. Baul Sundar group was declared by the High Court as illegal and invalid.

In fact, Mr. K. Baul Sundar did not contest the election since he was convicted in a Criminal Case relating to the IELC. However, he led one of the groups.
